FRIDAY:
Periods 1, 5: Text structure #1 worksheet - only identify which passage belongs to which text structure. You do not need to complete graphic organizers.

Periods 1,5: "Question and Answer" main idea page (wolves article)
Period 2 - PSSA 7: Finish transition organizer with "Wizard of Oz" passage
Period 3: Quiz corrections. See post below regarding the set up.
Period 4, 6, 8: Point of View multiple choice quiz 

WEDNESDAY:
Periods 1, 5: Inverted Pyramid page with police news article
Period 2 - PSSA 8: Complete Organizing Writing packet. Be prepared to support your answers.
Period 3: Author's Purpose worksheet.
Period 4, 6, 8: Finish "Three Little Pigs" point of view writing if not finished in class. 

THURSDAY:
Periods 1, 5: Multiple choice questions at end of "Endangered Animals" article
Period 2 - PSSA 7: Complete "Transitions" packet. Will be collected for 14 points on Monday.
Periods 3, 4, 6, 8: Be prepared to complete your RACERS in class tomorrow. 

FRIDAY:
Periods 1, 5: Finish talking to the text with "Endangered Animals." Each paragraph should have one word you're unsure of (or think would make a good vocab word), one question, and one comment.
Period 2- PSSA 8: In-class -- transition notes, text organization review.
Periods 3, 4, 6, 8: RACERS due on Monday if not finished in class.
 

Quiz Corrections

If you are making corrections to your Main Idea quizzes, please follow the following steps:

• Put your answers on a separate sheet of paper.
• Write the letter of the correct answer on the paper as well as an explanation as to WHY this is the correct answer.
• Turn in with your original quiz 
•  Please do NOT modify anything on your original quiz.

September 7-11

MONDAY:
No school - Labor Day!

TUESDAY:
Periods 1, 3, 5: Read for your reading log!
Period 2 - PSSA 8: In class - pre-test.
Period 4, 6: Complete multiple choice questions for "Endangered Species" article.
Period 8: Finish copying RACERS into final form. 

WEDNESDAY:
Periods 1, 5 In class - finished "How to be Successful" article; started RACERS.
Period 2 - PSSA 7: In class - pre-test.
Period 3: Copy RACERS onto final copy tonight.
Period 4, 6, 8: Pg. 2 of "Main Idea" packet - will be collected tomorrow for 10 point quiz.

THURSDAY:
Periods 1, 5: In class - continued work on RACERS. Please make sure you bring a book tomorrow!
Period 2 - PSSA 8: In class - reviewed introductions and conclussions; PSSA review.
Period 3: Pg. 2 of "Main Idea" packet - will be collected tomorrow for 10 point quiz.
Period 4, 6, 8: In class - main idea pyramids. Please finish pyramids tonight if not finished in class! 

FRIDAY:
Periods 1, 5: RACERS due! Please turn in on Monday if not finished in class.
Period 2 - PSSA 7: Complete "Gettysburg Address" main idea worksheet. Do not complete the last question.
Period 3: Finish "Inverted Pyramid" if not finished in class. Choose one article from the "Police News" handout.
