October 16-20

READING 7:
We will continue our work with central idea as we finish working through our three rotations. There will be a review on central idea with a quiz on either Wednesday or Thursday of this week, depending on the progress made on Monday and Tuesday. If you want extra practice, continue working with Summary or begin working on Central Idea on Study Island. We will continue our study of key ideas and details by turning the focus to inferences, generalizations, and textual support at the end of the week.


ENGLISH 9:
We will begin working with the narrative "American History" to gain an understanding of the elements of a narrative prior to beginning our personal narrative assignment this week. Assignments scheduled are:
MONDAY: Read the narrative, complete comprehension check on page 45.
TUESDAY: Close read the narrative, complete analyze the text on page 46.
WEDNESDAY: Review the author's use of conflict and its impact on the narrative, complete craft and structure on page 47.
THURSDAY: Review the author's use of vocabulary and its impact on tone and mood, complete vocabulary work on page 48.
FRIDAY: Review the conventions of the narrative (focus on prepositions) and complete the conventions practice on page 49.
