December 18-22

READING 7:
This week, we are completing the Ugly Sweater Challenge to practice multiple meanings of words -- technical, figurative, connotative, and denotative. Students will be working in groups through a series of questions testing their knowledge of these topics to create an ugly sweater that matches the key. The challenge must be completed by THURSDAY. There will be no homework this week. Friday is an 11 AM dismissal.

ENGLISH 9:
We will wrap up our study of Act 2 this week using read aloud, film, and audio version of Romeo and Juliet. We will continue looking at character and begin focusing on the crimes committed in the play to prepare ourselves for our persuasive writing assignment that will occur at the end of the play. At the end of Act 2, we will apply our study of character and theme to a Christmas movie, completing a character and thematic analysis. Friday is an 11 AM dismissal.
