October 2-6

READING 7:
This week, we will be wrapping up our introduction to TDA writing. Students will work on completing their third TDA on "The Body's Clock" and begin to prepare for an individual assessment on THURSDAY. Prior to our individual TDA, we will review "Minding our Ps and Qs" and the TDA rubric. Nearly all work should be completed in class this week and any homework will be posted here at the end of the day.
TUESDAY HW FOR PD. 3: Finish blue organizer for "The Body's Clock." / PD. 5: Finish blue organizer & copy into a final copy.
WEDNESDAY HOMEWORK (ALL CLASSES): Finish "The Body's Clock" TDA if not finished in today's class. The final copy of the TDA must be submitted at the beginning of class tomorrow and will not be accepted late.
FRIDAY HOMEWORK (ALL CLASSES): Finish Study Island benchmark by Tuesday. (Username is lunch number@ns (1234@ns) and password is abc123). We'll take a look at your scores during Wednesday's classes! :)



ENGLISH 9:
This week, we will wrap up our study of "The Immigrant Contribution" by looking at the Kennedy's use of persuasive appeals and diction. We will also take some time to dive back into "A Quilt of a Country" to review the use of diction by Quindlen. Our studies will lead us to our first writing piece of the year -- a comparative analysis of the diction used by Kennedy and Quindlen. Work will be completed in class and any homework will be posted at the end of each class period.
